Community
The people that make change happen aren’t just climate scientists or CEOs. They're the communities on the ground.
Our goal is to be a source of local pride and opportunities for the communities where we operate.
“We collaborate with communities to make sure they have a say in the decisions that affect local lives. We want to understand their roots before we put ours down.”

Working with you, in the community
For every BECCS project site announced, we’ll have a community engagement plan based upon working with diverse community members across each stage of the project lifecycle.
This will ensure that local individuals and organizations are fully aware of what’s happening and what’s planned. And it will create opportunities for feedback and suggestions.
Our focus on community benefit means we’re committed to offering training and skills development for local job seekers, and encouraging participation in our supply chain.
Our forest landowner assistance program will include local families who own forests, as well as underserved forest landowners.
As part of our strategy, we’ll set up a Community Fund for each BECCS site, to support local community projects and local charitable causes.
In addition, through the Group’s Foundation, we’ll develop multi-year funding relationships with not-for-profit organizations that are working across our footprint. This is to improve equitable access to STEM education and skills development, and help protect and restore nature.
High-quality, well-paid jobs
Building BECCS plants means new workplaces and fresh opportunities. We’ll look to create and sustain high-quality jobs that benefit generations to come.
By giving the local workforce access to training and education, we aim to incentivize job seekers to stay in the local area.
Be a change maker.
To tackle climate change, we need to work together - starting today.
We're building a coaltion of communities, CDR buyers, engineers, investors and innovators.
